Abstract. The heated swimming pools can present a large zone of comfort temperatures, that change in 22ºC to 40ºC. The thermal swimming pools have their temperatures maintained by active-heat devices, whose task is to compensate thermal losses to the environment, which are basically, for its turn, the latent and sensible heat transfer to the atmospheric air, conduction transfer to soil and radiative heat exchanges to sky. Swimming pools also present energetic gain by absorption from solar radiation to the water. The thermal losses are influenced by climatic-solrarimetrics factors and by the physical space. It’s also checking the influence of and the active heating systems (i.e. heat pumps, gas boilers and solar heaters) are analyzed with the help of a computational routine written for this end. It generates data results of the thermal behavior of the swimming pool when submitted to factors like wind velocity, swimming pool cover, presence or not of wind or solar brakes and to solar radiation. It has been also developed a study about the performance of heating devices. This work provides technical aspects necessary to the correct dimensioning of a swimming pool heating installation.
