Abstract. Due to the increasing frequency of operations and the size of airplanes, the landing and take off operations are becoming critical in almost all the big sized airports. The reduction of the time between subsequent operations is of importance to increase the airport efficiency. To specify the minimum lag between operations it is necessary to understand the dynamics of the dissipating wake, on the airport ground. The objective of this paper is to utilize the Vortex Method to numerically study the airplane wake, simulating it by a cloud of discrete vortices.
