The flow in porous media were extensively studied in recent years. This interest has been increased by its importance in several engineering processes. Only to illustrate some of them, one can cite solar power collectors, migration of moisture through air containing fibrous insulation, underground spread of pollutants, grain storage and others. Hence, this large utilization possibilities lead to present a numerical model for a steady flow in a enclosure filled with a porous media. There are several schemes developed in recent years to simulate the flow in a porous medium. The most common of them, and used in this paper, is the Darcy model. This approach reduces the number of the problem governing equations and, consequently, the problem complexity. So, in this work was developed a formulation using the finite element method and Darcy model. The obtained results were compared with other previous published. Results for different inclination angles of the enclosure with their respective heat transfer coefficient were presented and discussed. Keywords. porous medium, free convection, Darcy scheme.
