This work shows some examples where the software MAPLE is used in the resolution of partial differential equations resulting from typical problems in unsteady unidimensional heat conduction. Obtaining the analytical solutions for this kind of equation is a tedious task. It was proposed a teaching methodology where the resolution of partial differential equations is made by a simple procedure using the software MAPLE. This software also has graphical tools which can be used to visualize the results. This methodology leaves to the students more time to get a better understanding of physical problem, saving their time doing exhaustive algebraic manipulations.
