Developing techniques
for designing efficient and cost effective energy systems is one of the
foremost challenges energy engineers face. In a world with finite natural
resources and increasing energy demand, it becomes increasingly important
to understand the mechanisms which degrade energy and resources and to
develop systematic approaches for improving the design of energy systems
and reducing the damage to the environment.
This symposium
addresses issues related to the simulation, analysis and improvement of
the design and operation of energy systems, focusing on fundamental and
applied research in the areas of thermodynamics, exergy and thermoeconomic
analysis and optimisation of energy systems, including also energy management,
waste utilisation for energetic purposes and environmental impact
of energy systems.
