 Title:
GEOGRAPHICAL LOCATION OF TRANSMITTERS THROUGH SATELLITES

Summary :
ABSTRACT: THE LOCATION OF TRANSMITTERS, IN NEAR REAL TIME THROUGH SATELLITES, IS NECESSARY TO LOCATE AND RESCUE PEOPLE IN REMOTE AREAS AND IT IS QUITE USEFUL IN KEEPING TRACK OF ANIMALS AND OF OCEANOGRAPHIC BUOYS IN SCIENTIFIC RESEARCHES. THE PROPOSAL HERE IS TO USE THE SYSTEM CALLED ARGOS, ON BOARD OF SATELLITES OF NOAA (NATIONAL OCEANIC AND ATMOSPHERIC ADMINISTRATION) SERIES, WHICH SUPPLIES THE LOCATION SOME TIME LATER (NOT IN REAL TIME), AND DEMANDS LINK TO A SPECIFIC FOREIGN COMPUTER. IN THIS WORK A CALCULATION METHODOLOGY WILL BE DEVELOPED BASED ON DOPPLER SHIFT FOR USE IN ORDINARY MICRO-COMPUTERS, THAT ALLOWS THE GEOGRAPHICAL LOCATION OF THE TRANSMITTERS IN NEAR REAL TIME. THIS TECHNOLOGY, WHEN EMPLOYED WITH PORTABLE RECEPTION STATIONS OF ARGOS SIGNS, CAN ALSO BE USED IN FIELD WORKS WITH LOW OPERATIONAL COST. THE LOCATION SYSTEM CAN ACCOMPLISH THE SAME FUNCTIONS THROUGH THE BRAZILIAN SATELLITES SCD 1 AND 2 (DATA COLLECTION SATELLITES) AND CBERS (CHINA-BRAZIL EARTH RESOURCES SATELLITE). KEY WORDS: GEOGRAPHICAL LOCATION, DOPPLER SHIFT, TRANSMITTERS
