INFLUENCE OF THE THERMOMECHANICAL COUPLING ON THE WAVE PROPAGATION IN ELASTO-VISCOPLASTIC BARS WITH DAMAGE EVOLUTON

Summary :
|
ABSTRACT. THIS PAPER PRESENTS A MECHANICAL MODEL WITH INTERNAL VARIABLES TO NUMERICAL SIMULATION BEHAVIOR OF DAMAGEABLE ELASTOVICOPLASTIC BARS WITH DYNAMICS AND THERMAL EFFECTS INVOLVED. THE BEHAVIOR OF 316L STAINLESS STEEL BAR ARE STUDIED AND ANALYZED. THE BAR IS BUILT-IN AND SUBJECTED TO CYCLIC LOADS IN FREE END. THE RESULTS SHOW THAT PART OF THE PLASTIC WORK IS TRANSFORMED INTO HEAT RESULTING IN A TEMPERATURE RISE THAT AFFECTS DIRECTLY THE DEGRADATION AND MECHANICAL BEHAVIOR OF THE BAR.
KEY WORDS: VISCOPLASTICITY, TERMOMECHANICAL COUPLING, INTERNAL VARIABLE, DAMAGE
