 Title:
CARACTERIZATION OF CAPACITIVE SENSORS FOR MONITOR THE HUMIDITY IN SOILS.

Summary :
ABSTRACT. THE IRRIGATION IS A TECHNIQUE DEVELOPED TO SUPPLY THE NEED HYDRIC OF THE PLANTS. THE USE OF THE WATER SHOULD BE OPTIMIZE SO THAT THE CULTURE JUST HAS ENOUGH FOR ITS DEVELOPMENT, WITH THE MINIMUM OF WASTE. THE OBJECTIVE OF THIS PAPER IS CHARACTERIZING THE ACTING OF CAPACITIVE SENSORS BUILT WITH DIELETRIC OF POMES STONE (RD = 0,4 E RD = 0,8), SOIL SAMPLE (RD = 0,8 E RD = 1,0), BEING THE PARAMETER RD A GEOMETRIC FATOR RELATES THE DISTANCE BETWEEN THE CAPACITOR PLATES WITH THE RADIUS OF THE SAME ONES. THE CURVES PRESENTED RELATE THE HUMIDITY PERCENTAGE BASED IN DRY WEIGHT PRESENTED IN THE SOIL AS A FUNCTION OF THE ELETRICT TENSION SUPPLIED BY THE SENSOR. THE OBTAIN RESULTS ALLOWED TO INFER THAT THE BEHAVIOR OF THE CAPACITIVE SENSOR WERE CHARACTERISTIC FOR EACH TYPE SOIL, BEING, THEREFORE, NECESSARY THE DEVELOPMENT OF APPROPRIATE CURVES OF CALIBRATION RELATING THE SOIL HUMIDITY IN FUNCTION OF THE ELECTRIC TENSION SUPPLIED BY THE SENSOR. KEYWORDS: AUTOMATION, AGRICULTURAL INSTRUMENTATION, CAPACITIVE SENSOR.
