Summary :
|
ABSTRACT. THIS WORK PRESENTS A THERMODYNAMIC ANALYSIS OF A GAS TURBINE POWER CYCLE. A COMPUTATIONAL PROGRAM WAS IMPLEMENTED FOR THE SYSTEM MODELING. THE SYSTEM CONFIGURATION IS BASED ON MODERN CYCLE VERSIONS, WITH HIGH EFFICIENCY AND PERFORMANCE, AND USES WATER INJECTION IN THE COMBUSTION AIR TO IMPROVE THE CYCLE CHARACTERISTICS (RWI - RECUPERATED WATER INJECTED). THE FUEL USED IS NATURAL GAS. THE COMPUTATIONAL MODEL DETERMINES THE WATER AND GASES THERMODYNAMIC PROPERTIES IN THE SEVERAL POINTS OF THE SYSTEM USING SPECIFIC SUBROUTINES. THE THERMODYNAMIC ANALYSIS IS PERFORMED ON THE BASIS OF THE FIRST AND THE SECOND LAWS OF THERMODYNAMICS TO VERIFY THE INFLUENCE OF SEVERAL PARAMETERS, INCLUDING THE COMBUSTION GASES TEMPERATURE IN THE TURBINE INLET, AND THE PRESSURE RELATIONS IN THE AIR COMPRESSORS, ON CYCLE THERMAL EFFICIENCY AND SPECIFIC WORK.
