FLOWDRILLING KINEMATIC EVOLUTION
Summary :
THE FLOWDRILL KINEMATICS HAS UNDERTAKEN IMPORTANT ALTERATIONS SINCE ITS INTRODUCTION AS A MANUFACTURING PROCESS IN THE INDUSTRIES. THE KINEMATIC IS CHARACTERIZED BY THE BEHAVIOR OF THE FEED FORCE AND MOMENT GENERATED DURING THE FLOWDRILLING, IN DEPENDENCE OF VARIABLES ENTRANCE. THE KINEMATIC CAN BE CLASSIFIED IN THREE DIFFERENT CASES. THESE CASES ARE A FUNCTION OF THE TOOL PENETRATION MOVEMENT IN THE WORKPIECE. THE FIRST ONE CONSISTED OF A CONSTANT FEED FORCE AND ROTATION. THE SECOND CASE REFERS TO THE USE OF CONSTANT FEED RATE AND ROTATION, RESULTING ON A VARIABLE FEED FORCE AND MOMENT DURING FLOWDRILLING. THE THIRD CASE HAS VARIABLE FEED RATES AND ROTATION ON PROCESS, WHICH IMPLIES IN A VARIATION OF THE EFFORTS DURING FLOWDRILLING EXECUTION. THE CHARACTERISTIC PHASES OF EACH CASE AND ITS INFLUENCE ON THE BEHAVIOR OF FEED FORCES AND MOMENTS ARE DESCRIBED IN THIS PAPER.
KEYWORDS: FLOWDRILLING, PLASTIC DEFORMATION, KINEMATICS.
