DEVELOPMENT OF A TUTORIAL FOR SUPPORT TO TEACHING OF NEW TECHNOLOGIES IN ENGINEERING
 
Summary :
ABSTRACT. THE CHANGES IN THE TEACHING/LEARNING PROCESS PROVIDED BY THE INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY CONTRIBUTED TO THE STUDENTS’ AND TEACHERS’ REDEFINITION OF THE ROLE IN THAT NEW SCENERY, SO THAT THE TEACHERS ARE NO LONGER MERE PASSERS OF THE KNOWLEDGE AND THE STUDENTS PASSIVE AGENTS. THE NEW TECHNOLOGIES BECAME IMPORTANT INSTRUMENTS IN THE PLANNING OF THE TEACHING. THERE ARE MANY TOOLS/TECHNIQUES THAT CAN BE USED, SUCH AS: MULTIMEDIA, HYPERMEDIA, SIMULATION, NEW SOFTWARE TO AID THE DESIGN, VIRTUAL REALITY AND OTHERS. THE MANIPULATION OF SOFTWARE, IN GENERAL, REQUIRE THE KNOWLEDGE OF A NUMBER OF COMPLEX CONCEPTS AND THE EXECUTION OF MECHANISMS THAT BECOME THEM DIFFICULT TO BE ASSIMILATED BY THE TRADITIONAL MECHANISMS, E. G.: WRITTEN MANUALS, " HELP " OF THE SOFTWARE OR ITS TUTORIAL. THE USE OF THE MULTIMEDIA IN THE TEACHING PROCESS AIMS AT FACILITATING THE LEARNING OF THOSE NEW TOOLS/TECHNIQUES, TO PRESENT RESOURCES THAT FACILITATE THE PROCESS OF ABSORPTION OF THE KNOWLEDGE, SUCH AS: IMAGES, SOUND, FRIENDLY INTERFACE, THAT TOGETHER WITH THE READING, ARE CONFIGURED IN A MORE EFFICIENT AND EFFECTIVE WAY FOR ABSORPTION OF THE NECESSARY BASIC CONCEPTS. IN THIS CONTEXT, THIS WORK HAS FOR OBJECTIVE TO PRESENT THE USE OF THE MULTIMEDIA TOOL IN THE SUPPORT TO THE TEACHING OF SOFTWARE, ESPECIALLY USED IN SIMULATION.
