A dureza Brinell
é uma medida feita nos metais que estabelece sua resistência a
deformação plástica ou permanente. O resultado de medição desta
grandeza deve ser composta do valor mais provável, associada da incerteza
de medição. O artigo apresenta como expressar a incerteza na medição da
dureza Brinell, pelo método direto, considerando as principais fontes de
incerteza que podem afetar o resultado da medição.

This article presents how the uncertainty in the
measurement of the hardness Brinell affects the result of the measurement by
a direct method. The Brinell hardness is measured in metals, which
establishes the resistance to plastic or permanent deformation. The result
of this measurement is defined by of the most probable value and it is
associated to measurement uncertainty.
