COMPUTER IMPLEMENTATION OF THE BOUNDARY ELEMENT FOR NUMERICAL SOLUTION OF TWO-DIMENSIONAL TRANSIENT ADVECTION - DIFUSION PROBLEMS. KEY - WORDS: NUMERICAL METHOD, BOUNDARY ELEMENTS, PROBLEMS ADVECTION - DIFUSION IN THE PRESENT WORK THE BOUNDARY ELEMENT METHOD IS USED FOR THE NUMERICAL SOLUTION OF THE TWO-DIMENSIONAL ADVECTION-DIFUSION EQUATION EMPLOYING TIME-DEPENDENT FUNDAMENTAL SOLUTIONS. THE BOUNDARY INTEGRAL EQUATION IS APROXIMATED BY DISCRETIZING IN SPACE AND TIME USING CONSTANT ELEMENTS. DEVELOPED THE PROGRAMS CONSIDER THAT IN EVERY BOUNDARY ELEMENT EITHER A POTENTIAL VALUE OR ITS NORMAL DERIVATIVE IS KNOWN OVER TIME. WE MAKE USE OF A TIME STEPPING PROCESS TO COMPUTE THE POTENTIAL VALUES AND ITS NORMAL DERIVATIVE ALONG THE TIME. IN TIME LEVEL POTENTIAL VALUES AND ITS NORMAL DERIVATIVE BECOME KNOWN ON THE BOUNDARY, ALLOWING FOR THE COMPUTATION THE POTENTIAL AND ITS GRADIENT IN INTERNAL POINTS OF THE DOMAIN. SINGULARITY THE THAT APPEARS IN THE FIRST STEP OF TIME WHEN THE POINT SOURCE BELONGS TO THE FIELD ELEMENT IS REMOVED ANALYTICALLY. THE COMPUTER IMPLEMENTATION IS VALIDATED COMPARING THE NUMERICAL RESULTS WITH RESULTS FROM THE LITERATURE.
