 Titulo:
CASE STUDY ABOUT THE ASSEMBLABILITY EVALUATION IN THE PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT

Resumo :
ABSTRACT. IN THIS ARTICLE IT IS SHOWN SOME OF THE RESULTS OBTAINED THROUGH A SYSTEMATIC STUDY AND CRITICAL ANALYSIS OF THE ASSEMBLABILITY EVALUATION METHODS OF INDUSTRIAL PRODUCTS IN WHICH WAS AIMED THE METHODS ADEQUACY AND THE OBTAINMENT OF RECOMMENDATIONS FOR THEIR BEST USE DURING ALL THE DESIGN PROCESS PHASES. IT IS DEFINED AND PRESENTED THE DESIGN FOR ASSEMBLY (DFA) INVOLVING ITS USEFULNESS AND LIMITATIONS. IT IS FOCUSED HOW THE DFA LINKS UP WITH THE DESIGN PROCESS, INDICATING HOW THE DFA METHODOLOGY CAN BE USED TOGETHER WITH THE COMMON DESIGN TECHNIQUES AS THE QUALITY FUNCTION DEPLOYMENT (QFD), THE FUNCTION DECOMPOSITION AND THE MORPHOLOGIC MATRIX. TO BETTER ILLUSTRATE THE IMPORTANCE OF DFA AND TO EXEMPLIFY THE PROPOSED RECOMMENDATIONS IT IS PRESENTED ALSO A CASE STUDY OVER AN AGRICULTURAL IMPLEMENT. THE CASE STUDY WAS HELD APPLYING TWO DFA SOFTWARES AND A SPREADSHEET, WHAT SERVED AS BASIS TO DISCUSS ABOUT THE FUNCTIONALITY AND CONTRIBUTION OF THE ASSEMBLABILITY EVALUATION METHODS. KEYWORDS: DFA, DFMA, PRODUCT DESIGN, DESIGN PROCESS, PRODUCT EVALUATION.
