ESCOAMENTO OBLIQUO NO INTERIOR DE FEIXES TUBOS: DETERMINAÇÃO DOS COEFICIENTES DE ATRITO E DE TRANSFERÊNCIA DE CALOR
 
Resumo :
THE PRESENT PAPER IS CONCERNED WITH THE PREDICTION OF PRESSURE DROP AND HEAT TRANSFER IN TUBULAR BUNDLES OF HEAT EXCHANGERS, UNDER CONDITIONS OF INCLINED FLOW. A COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF THE MAIN METHODS PROPOSED BY OTHER AUTHORS IS CARRIED OUT. A METHODOLOGY FOR HYDRAULIC RESISTANCE AND HEAT TRANSFER CALCULATION IS PROPOSED, BASED ON FRICTION FACTOR AND HEAT TRANSFER COEFFICIENT FOR PURELY LONGITUDINAL OR TRANSVERSAL FLOWS. THE METHOD IS TESTED WITHIN A GENERAL CFD CODE, IMPROVED TO SIMULATE TUBULAR HEAT EXCHANGERS USING THE POROUS MEDIA APPROACH. NUMERICAL RESULTS HAVE BEEN COMPARED WITH EXPERIMENTAL DATA, REACHING A VERY GOOD AGREEMENT.
