Resumo :
EXPERIMENTAL EVALUATION OF J INTEGRAL IN STRUCTURAL STEELS –NEW PROCEDURES AND METHODOLOGIES ABSTRACT. PROJECT CODES AND TESTING PROCEDURES FOR THE CHARACTERIZATION OF MATERIALS ARE INDISPENSABLE TOOLS FOR ACHIEVING A SAFE AND HIGHLY RELIABLE DESIGN. HOWEVER, THE FORM THAT THESE DOCUMENTS ARE STRUCTURED USUALLY CAUSES CONFUSION TO USERS. THE OBJECTIVE OF THIS WORK IS TO PRESENT, UNDER A DIDACTIC AND CRITICAL FOCUS, THE NEW TESTING METHODOLOGIES, DEVELOPED BY ASTM IN THE LAST 2 YEARS, FOR OBTAINING FRACTURE TOUGHNESS IN TERMS OF THE J INTEGRAL, THE E1737, E1820 AND E1921 STANDARDS, ADDRESSING EVENTUAL DIFFICULTIES IN THEIR APPLICATION.
