 Titulo:
ANALYSIS OF NON-LINEAR PENDULUM USING STATE SPACE RECONSTRUCTION

Resumo :
NON-LINEAR DYNAMICS ANALYSIS FROM TIME SERIES SIGNALS POINTS TO THE NECESSITY OF ANSWER QUESTIONS ABOUT THE DYNAMICS OF THE SYSTEM WITHOUT UNDERSTANDING ALL DETAILS OF THE BEHAVIOR. THE BASIC IDEA OF THE STATE SPACE RECONSTRUCTION IS THAT A SIGNAL CONTAINS INFORMATION ABOUT UNOBSERVED STATE VARIABLES WHICH CAN BE USED TO PREDICT THE PRESENT STATE. THIS CONTRIBUTION PRESENTS AN OVERVIEW ON THE TECHNIQUES OF STATE SPACE RECONSTRUCTION, APPLYING THEM TO THE NON-LINEAR PENDULUM ANALYSIS. THE SIGNAL IS GENERATED BY NUMERICAL SIMULATION. PERIODIC AND CHAOTIC MOTIONS ARE TREATED. A CHAOTIC MOTION WITH NOISE IS ALSO INCLUDED IN THE ANALYSIS. THE RESULTS SHOW THAT THE STATE SPACE RECONSTRUCTED IS SIMILAR TO ORIGINAL SPACE. KEYWORDS: CHAOS, NON-LINEAR DYNAMICS, STATE SPACE RECONSTRUCTION.
