 Titulo:
A METHODOLOGY FOR UNIFICATION OF THE TREATMENT OF METROLOGICAL ASPECTS IN QUALITY ASSURANCE SYSTEMS

Resumo :
ABSTRACT. THE LACK OF A UNIFORM CRITERIA IN DEALING WITH METROLOGICAL ASPECTS WITHIN QUALITY SYSTEMS LEADS TO AN HETEROGENEOUS TREATMENT OF SYSTEMS WITH IDENTICAL CHARACTERISTICS. SUCH A PROBLEM OCCURS BOTH DURING PROCEDURE ELABORATION AND IN THE AUDITING CRITERIA. THIS PAPER PRESENTS THE MAIN RESULTS OF AN EXTENSIVE INVESTIGATION OF NORMS AND SPECIFIC DOCUMENTS RELATING METROLOGY TO QUALITY ENSURING. THIS PAPER ALSO PRESENTS A DETAILED RESEARCH ABOUT FIFTEEN COMPANIES CERTIFIED ACCORDING TO ISO 9000. THE EMPHASIS OF THESE ESTUDIES IS ON THE ANALYSIS OF CONFORMITY OF MEASURING INSTRUMENTS. IT BECOMES EVIDENT THAT THE CALIBRATION CERTIFICATES, IN THE WAY THEY ARE CURRENTLY PRESENTED, ARE INADEQUATE TO FULFIL THE REQUIREMENTS FOR METROLOGICAL QUALITY. THIS IS ALSO TRUE FOR THOSE CERTIFICATES ISSUED BY "REDE BRASILEIRA DE CALIBRAÇÃO" (THE BRAZILIAN CALIBRATION NETWORK). ADDITIONALLY, IT IS PROPOSED A METHODOLOGY FOR STRUCTURING THE METROLOGICAL ASPECTS INHERENT TO THE INTRODUCTION ON OF QUALITY SYSTEMS. THIS METHODOLOGY HAD BEEN PREVIOUSLY EVALUATED UNDER REAL USAGE CONDITIONS. KEYWORDS: METROLOGY, QUALITY, INSTRUMENTATION, CALIBRATION, MEASURING UNCERTAINTY
