 Titulo:
EFFECTS OF LIGHT RAYS DIVERGENCE ON TOMOGRAPHIC RECONSTRUCTION OF FLAMES

Resumo :
IT IS IMPLEMENTED A NEW ALGORITHM FOR TOMOGRAPHIC RECONSTRUCTION OF AXISYMMETRIC FLOWS TO BE EMPLOYED AS A DIAGNOSTIC TOOL OF REACTIVE PROCESSES, BY USING IMAGES, OR PROJECTIONS, OBTAINED FROM DIGITAL CAMERAS. NUMERICAL EXPERIMENTS ARE PERFORMED, COMPARING RECONSTRUCTIONS OBTAINED FROM ANALYTICAL PROJECTIONS OF A PRE-DEFINED FUNCTION, CONSIDERING DIFFERENT DISTANCES FROM THE OBJECT TO THE CAMERA. RECONSTRUCTIONS OF CH AND C2 RADICAL EMISSIONS FROM IMAGES OF AXISYMMETRIC FLAMES ARE PRESENTED NEXT. THE NEW ALGEBRAIC TECHNIQUE ALLOWS A BETTER RESOLUTION COMPARED TO THE USUAL METHODS UTILIZED FOR INVERSION OF THE ABEL INTEGRAL. SEVERAL ASPECTS WERE CONSIDERED FOR THE IMPROVEMENT OF THE RECONSTRUCTION QUALITY, SUCH AS NUMBER OF PIXELS, NOISE REDUCTION AND SMOOTHING. THE NEW METHOD, AN ONION PEELING TECHNIQUE FOR DIVERGENT RAYS, ALLOWS A COMPLETE CORRECTION OF THE RAYS DIVERGENCE EFFECTS FOR SPHERICAL AND PLANAR RADIAL FLAMES AND A SIGNIFICANT CORRECTION OF THE RAYS DIVERGENCE EFFECTS FOR AXISYMMETRIC FLAMES. KEYWORDS: TOMOGRAPHY, FLAMES, DIAGNOSTICS, DIVERGENCE.
