ESTUDO COMPARATIVO DE DIFERENTES MÉTODOS DE DESACOPLAMENTO PRESSÃO-VELOCIDADE NAS EQUAÇÕES DE NAVIER-STOKES

Resumo :
ABSTRACT. WITH THE GOAL TO SURPASS THE IMPLICIT DEPENDENCY BETWEEN PRESSURE AND VELOCITY ON THE NAVIER-STOKES EQUATIONS(ENS), MANY DIFFERENT NUMERICAL SCHEMES HAVE BEEN DEVELOPED ALONG THE TIME, NOTICING THE PROJECTION METHOD (CHORIN, 1968), WHICH DIVIDE THE SOLUTION IN THREE PARTS SOLVED ON EACH TIME STEP WITHOUT USING A LOCAL ITERATIVE PROCESS. A NEW SET OF PROPOSALS HAVE BEEN DEVELOPED TO OBTAIN IMPROVED PRECISION AND PERFORMANCE. ON THIS CONTEXT, PATERA (1984) AND KARNIADAKIS ET. AL. (1991) IMPLEMENTED THE HIGH-ORDER SPLITTING METHOD. IN THIS WORK THE ORIGINAL PROJECTION SCHEME AND THE HIGH-ORDER SCHEME HAVE BEEN APPLIED TO SIMULATE THE ISOTERMIC FLOW IN A CAVITY AND ON A STEP. THE FINITE VOLUME METHOD HAVE BEEN USED THE DISCRETIZE THE EQUATIONS INVOLVED, AN EXPLICIT ADAM-BASHFORTH TEMPORAL SCHEME ASSOCIATED WITH A FORTH ORDER SPATIAL INTERPOLATION FOR THE CONVECTIVE TERMS AND A CRANK-NICOLSON IMPLICIT SCHEME WITH A CENTRAL-DIFERENCE SCHEME FOR THE DIFUSIVE TERMS. A MUCH BETTER AGREEMENT IS OBTAINED BETWEEN THE RESULTS FROM THE PROJECTION METHOD AND THE "BENCHMARK" RESULTS AVAILABLE IN THE KNOWN LITERATURE. KEY-WORDS: PROJECTION METHOD, HIGH-ORDER SPLITTING, FINITE VOLUMES
