UMA INVESTIGAÇÃO EXPERIMENTAL E TEÓRICA DA EXTRUSÃO DE UMA VÁLVULA AUTOMOTIVA
 
Resumo :
ABSTRACT. THE AIM OF THIS WORK IS TO SIMULATE THE BILLET FLOW DURING THE EXTRUSION OF AN AUTOMOTIVE VALVE. PLASTICINE AND COMMERCIALLY PURE LEAD WERE USED AS EXPERIMENTAL FLOW PATTERNS TO SIMULATE EXTRUSION PROCESS. THESE OBTAINED PATTERNS SHOWED THE INTERNAL FLOW OF THE MATERIAL INSIDE THE DIE, WHICH WERE VERY CLOSE WITH THE APPLIED THEORETICAL MODELS. FRICTION EFFECT WAS ALSO STUDIED. EXTRUSION FORCES FOR LUBRICATED LEAD BILLETS WERE FAIR AGREEMENT WITH THE ESTIMATED VALUES BY THE UNIFORM-DEFORMATION ENERGY METHOD.
