 Titulo:
NUMERICAL STRATEGIES FOR GEOMETRICALLY NON-LINEAR ANALYSIS

Resumo :
THIS PAPER IS CONCERNED WITH THE DEVELOPMENT OF A GENERAL METHODOLOGY FOR THE SOLUTION OF SYSTEMS OF NON-LINEAR ALGEBRAIC EQUATIONS. THE FINITE ELEMENT METHOD TOGETHER WITH AN UP-DATED LAGRANGIAN FORMULATION IS USED TO DISCRETIZE THE STRUCTURE. THE AIM IS TO IMPLEMENT AND COMPARE VARIOUS NUMERICAL PROCEDURES THAT, ASSOCIATED WITH THE USUAL ITERATIONS OF NEWTON TYPE, ALLOWS ONE TO OBTAIN THE RESPONSE OF THE STRUCTURE BEYOND CRITICAL POINTS. AMONG THE MOST EFFECTIVE NUMERICAL PROCEDURES, IT IS WORTH TO MENTION THE LINEAR FORM OF THE ARCH-LENGTH METHOD AND ITS VARIATIONS, THE MINIMUM UNBALANCED DISPLACEMENT NORM TECHNIQUE AND THE DISPLACEMENT CONTROL METHOD. WORD-KEY: NON-LINEAR ANALYSIS, LOAD INCREMENTATION STRATEGIES, ITERATIVE STRATEGIES, EQUILIBRIUM PATH.
