 Title:
ENERGETIC EFFICIENCY PARAMETERS OF AN INTEGRATED GASIFICATION COMBINED CYCLE

Summary :
ABSTRACT. THE MAIN CHARACTERISTICS OF THE "INTEGRATED GASIFICATION COMBINED CYCLE" (IGCC) POWER PLANTS, WHEN COMPARED WITH THE TRADITIONAL COAL POWER PLANTS (PF - PULVERIZED FUEL), ARE THE POSSIBILITY OF BUILDING THEM BY PARTS AND THE BEST THERMODYNAMIC AND ENVIRONMENTAL PERFORMANCES. IN THIS PAPER THE MAIN PARAMETERS USED TO MEASURE THE THERMODYNAMIC EFFICIENCY OF AN ACTUAL IGCC POWER PLANT ARE ANALIZED. THE RESULTS WERE OBTAINED THROUGH COMPUTER SIMULATIONS AND THE VALUES REFER TO THE DESIGN OPERATION CONDITIONS. THE INLET FUEL IS A MIXTURE OF EQUAL PARTS OF A COAL AND SOLID PETROLEUM COKE. THE RESULTS OBTAINED ARE COMPARED WITH THOSE EXPECTED BY THE BUILDERS OF THE PLANT AND REPRODUCE WITH GOOD PRECISION ALL ITS SUBSYSTEMS. KEYWORDS: SIMULATION; GASIFICATION; COMBINED-CYCLE; GAS-TURBINE.
