EXPERIMENTOS CIENTÍFICOS E TECNOLÓGICOS EM AMBIENTE DE BAIXA GRAVIDADE
 
Summary :
ABSTRACT. SCIENTIFIC AND TECHNOLOGICAL EXPERIMENTS IN LOW GRAVITY ENVIRONMENT ARE FINDING AN INCREASING DEMAND. A LOW GRAVITY ENVIRONMENT ENABLES THE PRODUCTION OF HOMOGENEOUS AND PERFECT CHEMICAL CRYSTALS, THE CREATION OF NEW METALLIC ALLOYS, NEW ELECTRONIC COMPONENTS, UNACCOUNTABLE AGRONOMIC AND BIOMATERIAL RESEARCHES, ETC. IN ORDER TO OBTAIN A LOW GRAVITY ENVIRONMENT SEVERAL WAYS CAN BE USED REGARDING THE COSTS, AND THE AVAILABLE TIME FOR THE EXPERIMENT. COMPLEMENTING THOSE SYSTEMS, A REUSABLE ORBITAL PLATFORM IS BEEN DEVELOPED, WHICH LOCATED IN AN ORBIT OF 300 KM WILL ALLOW THE EXPERIMENTATION WITH MICROGRAVITY, VACUUM, DIRECT SOLAR RADIATION, LOW TEMPERATURES, ETC. THE SYSTEM, BUILD IN A PLATFORM WITH CAPSULE SHAPE, WILL STAY IN ORBIT DURING THE TIME NEEDED FOR EXECUTION OF THE EXPERIMENT, BEING SENT BACK TO THE EARTH, AND THEN RECOVERED. THIS SYSTEM IS A GOOD AND AFFORDABLE OPTION WHEN COMPARED TO ACTUAL SYSTEMS IN WHICH THE USERS OF SMALL EXPERIMENTS HAVE HIGH COSTS PER PAYLOAD CAPACITY. THE PRESENT PAPER GIVES A BRIEF VIEW ABOUT THE DIFFERENT WAYS AVAILABLE FOR DOING EXPERIMENTS IN A MICROGRAVITY ENVIRONMENT, AND SHOWS AND DISCUSSES THE EXPERIMENTAL MODULE OF THE PROPOSED PLATFORM.
