MOVING LOADS ON PLATES: A FORMULATION USING THE MODAL ANALYSIS
 
Summary :
THIS PAPER INTRODUCES A FORMULATION FOR THE STUDY OF THE INTERACTION BETWEEN A STRUCTURE, REPRESENTED BY A PLATE, AND A MOVING LOAD ORIGINATED FROM A DYNAMICAL SUBSYSTEM. THE MODAL ANALYSIS HAS BEEN USED TO DEFINE THE TRANSFORMERS, WHICH REPRESENTS THE ENERGETIC INTERACTION BETWEEN THE PLATE AND THE MECHANICAL SUBSYSTEM. THE FACILITIES OF THE GENERALIZED PROCEDURE OF THE BOND GRAPH TECHNIQUE ARE TAKEN INTO ACCOUNT. THE EXAMPLE OF AN OSCILLATOR TRAVELLING ALL OVER SURFACE OF A PLATE IS INTRODUCED TO VALID THE ADOPTED PROCEDURE. SOME RESULTS ARE SHOWN TO EMPHASIZE THE SIGNIFICANCE OF THE MODEL WHICH CONSIDERS THE GLOBAL BEHAVIOR OF THE ENTIRE SYSTEM. THE MODELING OF THE STRUCTURAL DYNAMICS USING THE FINITE ELEMENT METHOD, TO GET A BETTER MODEL IS DISCUSSED AT THE END OF THIS PAPER.
